The Insurance Council of Australia and multiple insurance companies will be visiting regional Victoria in the coming weeks to meet with people affected by the January bushfires.

Will insurers be visiting our area?

Yes. Insurance companies will be visiting Harcourt on Thursday 28 May 10.00am - 4.00pm at the Harcourt Leisure Centre. regional Victoria in the coming weeks to meet with people affected by the January bushfires.

What are these visits for?

  • These sessions give you the chance to:
  • speak directly with your insurer
  • ask questions about your claim
  • lodge a new claim if you haven’t already
  • get help understanding the process

Who is organising the visits?

The sessions are being organised by the Insurance Council of Australia (ICA).

Who will be there?

You’ll be able to meet:

  • representatives from a range of insurance companies
  • staff from the Insurance Council of Australia

What can they help with?

They can help you:

  • understand your insurance claim
  • check on the progress of a claim
  • raise concerns or issues
  • learn about dispute resolution options
  • get general advice about insurance

What should I bring?

If you can, bring any information that will help with your claim:

  • Your insurance policy details or policy number
  • Any claim reference numbers
  • Photos or videos of damage
  • Receipts, quotes or invoices for repairs or replaced items
  • A list of damaged or lost items (even a rough list is helpful)
  • Any reports (e.g. builder, assessor, or emergency services)
  • Notes or records of previous conversations with your insurer

If you don’t have everything, don’t worry - you can still attend and get help.
