The Council Plan is a high-level document which outlines the council's strategic priorities and is directly linked to the Annual Budget.
The Council Plan is required by the Local Government Act 2020, must be reviewed regularly, and needs to be delivered within 12 months of a local government election.
Council Plan 2025-2029 outlines our strategic focus through key priorities, goals and actions over the next four years. It is community-focussed, is reviewed annually and has measurable goals.
The Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan (MPHWP) is mandated by the Public Health and Wellbeing Act 2008 and details how Council will protect and improve community health.
The MPHWP must align with the Victorian Public Health and Wellbeing Plan 2023-2027 which focusses on ten priority areas including improving sexual and reproductive health, reducing harm from tobacco and e-cigarette use, and preventing all forms of violence.
A Community Vision is a statement that describes a community's aspirations for the future.
Developing the statement is a collaborative process that involves the community and Council.
The documents that guide Council’s work into the future strive to be truly reflective of our community’s needs and aspirations.
To do this, we involve as many people and organisations as possible in their development.
This includes collaborating with:
- Community members
- Council staff
- Local MPs
- A community reference group
- Stakeholder organisations (e.g. Dhelkaya Health, CFA, and more).
- Local emergency responders
- First Nations community members
- CALD communities
- Young people
- Vulnerable residents
- Many more.
We are working in partnership with consultants, The Regional Development Company, to develop the plans.
Following community consultation, will prepare a draft Council Plan 2025-2029 which will be exhibited.
Once reviewed, the new Council Plan is presented to Councillors for consideration at their next Council meeting.
