Join the inclusive streets audit

Mount Alexander Shire Council has partnered with Victoria Walks to conduct an inclusive streets audit in March, April and May, 2026.

This builds on input we heard when we consulted with the community on the Castlemaine CBD Road Safety Plan, safer parking at schools, the Active Transport Strategy and the Disability and Inclusion Action Plan.

We want to better understand how accessible, inclusive and safe the town centre is for all users, but especially for people living with disability, older adults, and families.

Engagement activities ran across March and April and we thank all community members and stakeholders that took part.

Victoria Walks is now analysing the data collected. This will be used to inform the audit which will guide future design, maintenance, and investment decisions for the shire.
