Newstead has been identified as a priority location for the installation of outdoor fitness equipment, following strong community interest and limited existing fitness facilities in the township.

Preferred site: Lyons Park, Newstead

Lyons Park has been recommended as the preferred location for a new outdoor fitness space due to its accessibility, available open space, and existing supporting amenities.

Building on a proven approach

This project follows the successful installation of outdoor fitness equipment at Norwood Hill Recreation Reserve in Castlemaine, which has been well received by the community. Subject to funding, Council aims to roll out similar fitness opportunities in other townships over time.
