Share your thoughts and win!

Mount Alexander Shire Council is inviting the Newstead community to share their thoughts on a proposed outdoor fitness space at Lyons Park.

Newstead was identified as a priority location for the installation of outdoor fitness equipment due to strong community interest and limited existing fitness facilities. Lyons Park, Newstead has been recommended as the preferred site based on its accessibility, available space, and supporting amenities.

To enable this project to go ahead Council is in the process of seeking additional funding from the State Government and we need your input to help shape the design and ensure the space meets community needs.

We want your feedback on:

  • The types of exercise equipment you’d like to see (e.g., dynamic, static, combination)
  • How you plan to use the space (e.g., time of day, duration, and who with)
  • Any barriers you may have in using the equipment (e.g., paths, parking, transport).

Everyone who provides feedback will go into a draw to win a free family membership to the Newstead Pool for the 2025 - 2026 summer pool season.

Survey closes Monday 1 December

Take the survey and go in the draw to win a free membership to the Newstead Pool for the 2025 - 2026 pool season!

This project follows the successful installation of fitness equipment at the Norwood Hill Recreation Reserve in Castlemaine, which has been well received by the community. Council plans to roll out more fitness equipment in other townships subject to funding.
