A nature strip is defined as an area of public land located:
- between the pedestrian footpath and the back of the street kerb/culvert drain; or
- where there is no formed footpath, between the back of the street kerb/ culvert drain and 1.5 metres from the property boundary.
Nature strips are the shared responsibility of:
- Residents and property owner/manager
- Utility authorities
- Mount Alexander Shire Council
