Project background
The Whole of Home Resilience project
From November 2024 to February 2025 Council and Castlemaine Institute conducted 150 free energy efficiency and resilience home assessments across the shire.
The objective of the assessments was to target old and new homes with varied construction materials and techniques, for example weatherboard, brick and brick veneer.
Homes were selected through an expressions of interest process that was publicised through this Shape page, which closed at the end of July 2024.
The assessments will provide:
- A report to homeowners on the risks specific to their home from natural hazards like bushfire, flood, storm and extreme heat
- Data that will help Council and agencies to support the community to prepare their homes against natural hazards.
