Streetscape is a term given to the collective appearance of buildings, footpaths, gardens and landscaping along a street.

It’s often a visual identity of a community or neighbourhood.

Council has completed streetscape improvement works in the townships of Campbells Creek, Chewton, Elphinstone, Guildford, Newstead and Taradale.

Now, it’s time for Metcalfe, Sutton Grange, Fryerstown and Baringhup.

Streetscape upgrades are part of our Capital Works program.

Improvements within the scope of this project include:

  • Street furniture (e.g. picnic tables, park benches)
  • Plantings
  • Parking
  • Public art
  • Lighting
  • Access improvements
  • Footpaths
  • Town entrance features

Improvements not within the scope of this project:

  • Roads
  • Buildings

Community consultation is a key part of developing plans, strategies and large-scale projects at Council.

We have a very passionate and knowledgeable community in Mount Alexander Shire and by speaking to you directly about your thoughts, ideas and concerns, we can create effective plans that serve each township and community.

We are in the design phase.

We will need to seek further funding to implement any approved designs.
