Express your interest in becoming a member of our new Disability Inclusion Advisory Group.

This group will guide the implementation of the Disability Inclusion Action Plan 2023 – 2027, which seeks to ensure people of all abilities feel welcome and included in our shire.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a range of community members from within the shire to join the advisory group and support the implementation of the Disability Inclusion Action Plan 2023 – 2027.

Members should be:

  • people with lived experience of various types of disabilities
  • people caring for someone with a disability
  • from a service provider
  • community members with specialist knowledge of, or interest in disability issues
  • from key priority groups including LGBTIQA+, Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander and CALD (culturally and linguistically diverse) communities.

What is involved?

To apply to join the advisory group, please check over the terms of reference and then complete the Expression of Interest form in the next tab.

Applicants will be notified by 21 June 2024 if they have been selected to the working group.

The first meeting is planned for the following week.

The advisory group will meet quarterly, in the Council Chamber with each session up to 1.5 hours long.
