This group will guide the implementation of the Disability Inclusion Action Plan 2023 – 2027, which seeks to ensure people of all abilities feel welcome and included in our shire.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a range of community members from within the shire to join the advisory group and support the implementation of the Disability Inclusion Action Plan 2023 – 2027.

This role is for people who:

  • Have a genuine interest in the rights and wellbeing of people living with a disability
  • Have an association or engagement with people living with a disability
  • Represent an organisation within the Shire that supports people with disabilities
  • Have an ability and willingness to work within the Advisory Group’s Terms of Reference
  • Possess skills, experiences and knowledge deemed helpful in supporting the aims of the Advisory Group
  • Represent diversity across the disability and/or support services spectrum within the wider community
  • Advocate for inclusive and equitable communities

We understand how diverse our disability community is and want to have as many voices and stories represented as possible. If you feel you can bring experiences, including those that are not commonly represented in our community, we would love to hear from you!

Key dates

Expressions of interest are open from Monday 21 July Monday 11 August at 4:00 PM.

Successful applicants will be notified by Monday 1 September.

The first meeting is scheduled for Wednesday 10 September.
