Let's keep talking at our Listening Posts

We'll be out and about

Do you want to meet your Mayor, Councillors and Council staff in person? Listening posts are a great way to:

  • Tell us what matters most to you and your township
  • Ask us questions
  • Learn more about local government
  • Have your say - provide input on Council projects, policies or plans.

We hope to see you there.

Who is my local Councillor?

Mount Alexander Shire Council is made up of eight Councillors, elected by voters who are registered on the electoral role in eight wards.

Use the nifty My Area tool on our website to find out who your local Councillor is and learn more about them.

Why do we run Listening Posts?

Council is committed to engaging with the community.

During consultation for the Communications and Engagement Strategy we heard loudly and clearly that you wanted more face to face contact with Councillors.

Listening posts provide regular and ongoing opportunities for the community to chat more informally with Councillors and staff to report issues exchange ideas and information, and more.

What happens to my input?

Councillors and staff will collate and forward any input to the right people for consideration, at the right time.

We will also report back to you quarterly on what we have heard and how the information is being used.

Blue sky thinking!

This is a space for sharing community ideas and suggestions. We will share upcoming Councillor Listening Posts and other conversational pop-up's, or Community Conversations that sit alongside and outside of regular project engagement activities.

  • Do you have an idea for a new playground?
  • Do you think we need to spend more money on the arts, roads, or climate action?
  • Do you have a great new plan for the community that we can help deliver?

You can submit feedback as often as you like, so please drop by anytime!

Please share your idea or suggestion!

This is a moderated space for community of any age to share ideas and suggestions that other community members can read and support. Submissions will be shared with the relevant departments of Council on a monthly basis. They will also be included in upcoming community consultation where relevant. (max 140 characters).
